Can a gold money clip with someone’s initials be buffed out?

If so, who can do this and does anyone have an approximate cost? Thanks!
Should add that this is something I’m planning on purchasing on Ebay–not stolen.

If it’s solid gold, then the only question of how deep the initials are engraved. By the way, the value of 12 grams of 14K gold are worth approximately $195 at current prices.
